Reporting to the Business Unit Finance Lead Director, FP&A will provide finance leadership and support for the assigned PAQ business.
PAQ is approximately 1,300 employees with Engagement Solutions representing 630 employees and growing rapidly. The business is organized into four business units:
Advertising: consulting and advisory services to support large pharma and Bio-Tech brand strategy, omnichannel campaigns, digital and media strategy, etc.
Investor Relations Services (IREC): Bio-Tech advisory services to supplement an internal investor relations team or to provide an outsourced investor relations team to support IPO road mapping, buyside and sell-side targeting, investor relations communications, industry events and conferences, analyst education, etc.
Medical Communications: communication services for scientific platform development, KOL identification and engagement, peer to peer strategy and tactics, and competitive intelligence services.
Market Access: consulting and advisory services for large Pharma and Bio-Techs to support payer value message development, channel strategy and management, payer resources, access and affordability support, and account manager tools.
This role is responsible for translating insights into actionable strategic initiatives that drive profitability and will report directly the Vice President of Finance – Engagement Solutions while collaborating closely with each of the Business Unit Leads and the broader PAQ Finance organization.
The Director, FP&A Engagement Solutions will support the month end close process, budget and forecasting process, and actively report on key Engagement Solutions KPI’s in addition to supporting ad hoc projects.
The role will partner with the Business Unit Finance Lead and the broader PAQ and Corporate Finance team and stakeholders to unify processes, systems, and reporting across the Business Unit and make recommendations for efficiencies where applicable.
This Director collaborates with Business Unit leadership teams in support of the Finance Lead in the evaluation of strategic priorities and business objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with the VP Finance and business unit leaders to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for assigned PAQ business areas.
Support the annual budget and periodic forecast processes for assigned business areas, incorporating business inputs, operating assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
Prepare and review monthly financial results, variance analysis, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting packages to help explain performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Identify and communicate key business drivers, risks, and opportunities that may impact revenue, margin, EBITDA, staffing, utilization, and operating performance.
Provide financial and analytical support for business decisions, including staffing plans, investment needs, pricing considerations, project performance, and profitability analysis.
Work with Accounting, Client Finance, FP&A peers, and business partners to improve reporting accuracy, explain financial results, and support timely month-end close and forecast updates.
Support standardization of finance processes, reporting tools, templates, dashboards, and operating metrics across assigned business areas.
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed, translating findings into clear recommendations for the VP Finance and business stakeholders.
Manage, coach, and develop assigned finance team members by setting priorities, reviewing deliverables, providing feedback, and supporting continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum concentration accounting, finance or business
A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
