Akicita Federal is hiring an Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician to deliver high-quality neurological diagnostic services for Veterans receiving care at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will work directly with a dedicated team of VA clinicians to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions for those who have served our country. This is a full-time, on-site position providing critical diagnostic support to one of the nation's largest VA healthcare systems. - Perform electroencephalographic recordings on patients, including routine, ambulatory, and extended EEG studies - Prepare patients for EEG procedures by explaining the process, applying electrodes according to the 10-20 international system, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout - Monitor and record brain activity data during studies, identifying and documenting artifacts and clinically significant waveforms in real time - Operate, calibrate, and maintain EEG equipment to ensure accurate recordings and optimal functionality - Collaborate with neurologists and clinical staff to communicate findings, flag urgent or abnormal results, and support timely patient care decisions - Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, procedure documentation, and equipment logs in compliance with VA clinical standards - Assist with scheduling, patient flow coordination, and department quality assurance activities as needed
