Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Design Engineer to support a project focused on improving how advanced AI systems understand mechanical design and production-ready engineering workflows. You will create and review parametric CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation using FreeCAD or a comparable platform. The role requires practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing. Previous AI experience is not required. CONTRACT: Contractor COMMITMENT: Hourly/Part-time LOCATION: Remote PROCESS: Application Form -> AI Interview -> Selection Responsibilities Create and modify parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies. Produce manufacturing-ready drawings with GD&T and tolerance specifications . Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding. Review CAD models for dimensional accuracy and manufacturability. Perform tolerance stack-up and basic design validation. Prepare assembly instructions and technical reference documentation. Identify design issues and recommend practical improvements. Revise models and documentation based on technical feedback. Requirements At least 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing. Strong proficiency in FreeCAD or another parametric CAD platform . Experience producing production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing principles. Experience designing for at least two of the following: CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, or injection molding.
