About the role As a Media Operations Technician, you will own and execute critical media processing workflows across ingest, preparation, quality control, and distribution pipelines. You will manage video assets, transcoding, and ensure compliance with all copyright laws and licensing agreements. You will also handle technical troubleshooting, organize materials, and conduct quality control checks for both internal and external content distribution. You will be the key operator within the media supply chain, ensuring you process assets accurately and efficiently while meeting platform and partner delivery standards. In the role of Media Operations Technician, you will report to the Manager, Media Operations. We are considering applicants for the location of Hyderabad, India. Core Areas of Responsibility Oversee end-to-end media preparation workflows, staging assets in on-premises storage, Aspera on Cloud, and GCP archive, followed by asset ingest in the order management system. Perform media preparation and transcoding of assets, which includes the removal of bars and tones, commercial breaks, production slates, and more. Evaluate audio and video assets and complete necessary production tasks. Download and organize materials received from licensors. Review the content and mark timecode points for the skip credits feature. Conduct quality control checks of content intended for the internal site and external partners' use. Ensure assets meet internal quality standards and external partner specifications, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may affect delivery timelines or viewer experience. Troubleshoot complex media processing issues across ingest, encoding, transcoding, and playback systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions. Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements to media processing, QC, and asset handling procedures to increase operational efficiency and scalability Collaborate with teams across Content Operations, Localization, Product, and Distribution to support timely, accurate content delivery. Be the escalation point for media-related issues impacting launches or partner deliveries, ensuring resolution and clear communication with stakeholders. About You We get excited about candidates like you, because... 5+ years of experience in video, encompassing knowledge of related concepts such as timecode, frame rate, AV codecs, editing, timed text formats, and understanding of multiple video file formats and compression techniques. Knowledge of industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer. Proficient in asset management, storage, and systems, including familiarity with cloud-based storage solutions and file transfer protocols (e.g., AWS S3, GCP, FTP, or Aspera). Experience with media asset management (MAM) systems and digital archiving practices. Knowledge of copyright laws and licensing agreements related to digital content distribution. Experience troubleshooting technical issues related to video encoding, transcoding, and playback. Familiarity with content protection measures. Experience in independently managing multiple workflows and priorities. Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain issues, risks, and resolutions.
