Purpose of Role:
This is a hands-on management role at the heart of Man Group's Procurement function. The Procurement Manager is both an active commercial professional and the person responsible for leading and developing a team that is trusted, proactive and genuinely valued as a strategic partner by the business.
The function oversees approximately $100m of annual procurement spend across Man Group's indirect spend base. The Procurement Manager is accountable for ensuring that spend is visible, well-governed and delivering real value. We are looking for someone who builds Procurement's reputation by supporting the business in achieving its objectives, earning a seat at the table through the quality of relationships and the clarity of value delivered. Communication and stakeholder engagement are as important here as commercial expertise.
The ideal candidate will be CIPS qualified, with a strong commercial track record and a genuine belief that great procurement is built on communication, trust and fundamentals done well, supported by the right tools and technology.
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of three procurement professionals, setting clear direction, maintaining high standards and acting as a consultative escalation point to raise the quality and consistency of their outputs
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the business including Finance, Legal, Technology, Corporate Real Estate, COOs and business management teams across the investment management functions, providing sound commercial input and actively influencing demand upstream before commitments are made
Work with stakeholders to define requirements, design sourcing strategies and run go-to-market exercises; personally leading on complex sourcing projects, negotiations and commercial disputes
Manage supplier relationships across key categories, maintaining performance standards and providing project management structure on larger sourcing exercises to ensure timely and well-governed outcomes
Ensure savings are consistently captured and connected to a clear story of Procurement's value to senior management
Own the embedding of the Procurement Policy and controls framework, maintaining and improving Procurement MI, KPI reporting and governance touchpoints including Legal and TPRM
Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools and ways of working, proactively identifying new areas of opportunity
