[What the role is] We are seeking an AI Governance & Policy Officer to support the responsible, safe and effective adoption of AI across SLA. The officer will play a key role in operationalising SLA's AI governance framework, administering governance processes, and ensuring AI initiatives comply with Whole-of-Government requirements while enabling innovation and business value [What you will be working on] Position: AI Policy Manager Department: Digital, AI and Transformation Department Role Overview We are seeking an AI Governance & Policy Officer to support the responsible, safe and effective adoption of AI across SLA. The officer will play a key role in operationalising SLA's AI governance framework, administering governance processes, and ensuring AI initiatives comply with Whole-of-Government requirements while enabling innovation and business value. Key Responsibilities AI Governance & Risk Management Implement SLA's AI governance framework, processes and approval mechanisms. Administer AI use case intake, review, approval and reporting processes. Conduct AI risk assessments and governance reviews to ensure compliance with SLA and WOG requirements. Policy Development & Compliance Develop and maintain AI governance policies, SOPs, templates and guidance materials. Monitor emerging AI governance developments and assess implications for SLA. Maintain AI governance records, inventories and management reporting. Stakeholder Engagement & AI Adoption Coordinate AI governance matters with ITD, HR, CDO, business departments and WOG stakeholders. Advise project teams on responsible AI practices throughout the AI lifecycle. Support AI literacy, awareness and responsible AI adoption initiatives across SLA. Must Have Requirements Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Business, Law, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline. At least 3 years of experience in governance, policy, risk management, compliance, audit, digital transformation or related functions. Strong analytical, policy development and problem-solving capabilities. Experience developing policies, frameworks, SOPs, guidelines or governance processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good to Have Familiarity with Singapore Government AI governance policies, standards and frameworks. Knowledge of responsible AI, AI risk management and AI governance principles. Experience supporting governance committees, review boards or risk management functions. Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning and emerging AI technologies. Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, privacy and information management practices. Experience working within the Singapore Public Service or Whole-of-Government digital transformation initiatives. Personal Attributes Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement. Meticulous and detail-oriented with a structured approach to governance and compliance matters. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-evolving technology environment. Proactive, resourceful and able to manage multiple workstreams concurrently. Strong commitment to responsible, ethical and trustworthy use of AI.
