Department: Department of Leadership and Counselor Education Job Summary: The Department of Leadership and Counselor Education at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Counselor Education program. Job Description: The Counselor Education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and offers master's degrees in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. Degree programs are offered in-person on the Oxford campus. The department also offers fully online Education Specialist (Ed.S.) programs in Play Therapy and School Counseling Leadership. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, clinical training, and service. Faculty in the program enjoy a collegial environment with opportunities to mentor master's and doctoral students, collaborate on interdisciplinary research, engage in grant-funded initiatives, and contribute to the continued growth of a nationally respected counselor education program. Faculty members typically teach a 2-2 course load during the academic year, with opportunities for summer teaching available. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the following: teaching a 2:2 course load; research within the discipline; service to the department, college, university, and profession; student advising. The Department of Leadership & Counselor Education encourages a culture of presence. Required Qualifications • An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. ABD candidates will be considered; however, the doctoral degree must be conferred prior to the position start date. Candidates who are ABD may be asked to provide confirmation from their dissertation chair that the dissertation defense has been scheduled. • Experience working with graduate counseling students through instruction, clinical supervision, and/or scholarly activities. • Eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Mississippi. Preferred Qualifications • Active involvement in professional counseling organizations (e.g., ACA, ACES, AMHCA, ASCA, state counseling associations, or related professional organizations). • Evidence of a developing or established record of scholarly productivity, including publications, conference presentations, grant activity, or other scholarly contributions. • Demonstrated commitment to mentoring graduate students; fostering supportive and collaborative learning environments; and engaging in meaningful service to the university, the counseling profession, and the communities we serve.
