Location:  Singapore, Singapore (Hybrid) Hybrid | Full-time Compensation:  $115K - $140K We are hiring on behalf of an elite proprietary trading infrastructure firm is seeking an exceptional Backend Engineer to design and build the core components of its next-generation institutional trading framework. Operating as a specialized prime brokerage ecosystem for high-throughput decentralized protocols, our client develops cutting-edge environments powering institutional-grade algorithmic execution at scale. This critical technical role focuses on architecting secure, low-latency infrastructure capable of processing high-volume financial transactions. The successful candidate will collaborate with an elite technical team to advance the capabilities of decentralized execution environments, utilizing privacy-preserving technologies and sophisticated distributed system designs. Key Responsibilities Core Infrastructure Development: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance backend services and core infrastructure components using Rust. Smart Contract Engineering: Build, optimize, and audit highly secure smart contracts tailored for advanced decentralized virtual machine (EVM) environments. Latency Optimization: Develop, refine, and optimize real-time trading infrastructure to achieve sub-millisecond end-to-end execution latencies. System Architecture: Collaborate closely with foundational engineering teams on protocol architecture, cryptographic implementation, and scalable distributed system design. Security & Cryptography: Integrate privacy-preserving cryptography, including Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), into the core transaction pipeline. Requirements Systems Programming: Demonstrated professional proficiency in Rust and low-level systems programming. Trading Systems Exposure: Prior exposure to high-throughput quantitative trading systems, market-making infrastructure, or order routing engines. Distributed Networks: Proven experience designing, profiling, and optimizing high-performance, low-latency distributed systems. Blockchain Knowledge: Strong structural understanding of blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, and secure smart contract development. Advanced Concepts: Familiarity with mathematical and cryptographic concepts, specifically privacy-preserving primitives and TEE architectures. Operational Mindset: An autonomous problem-solving approach with a passion for constructing highly resilient, scalable infrastructure. Stage 4 (Practical Evaluation): A comprehensive 3-day paid work trial designed to evaluate real-time collaboration, codebase integration, and technical execution capabilities.
