Gender: Any Candidate Nationality: Any Job Type: Full-time Role Context The Carpenter Technician supports the Engineering team by maintaining the condition, safety and appearance of wooden fixtures and interior finishes throughout the resort. The role covers guest rooms, public areas and operational spaces where furniture, doors, cabinetry, flooring, panels and other joinery elements require regular inspection and repair. Timely workmanship helps protect property standards, reduce maintenance disruption and ensure guest-facing areas remain functional and visually consistent. Key Responsibilities * Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for carpentry, joinery and associated finishing works. * Inspect guest rooms and operational areas for damaged or deteriorated wooden fixtures. * Repair furniture, wardrobes, cabinets, drawers and other built-in joinery items. * Maintain and repair doors, door frames, skirting and wooden flooring. * Repair gypsum ceiling components where carpentry support is required. * Install, adjust and replace hinges, locks, handles, door closers and associated hardware. * Restore damaged wooden wall panels, decorative moldings, partitions and access panels. * Perform sanding, polishing and finishing work to restore surfaces to required standards. * Repair damaged laminates, veneers and decorative finishes. * Fabricate wooden components using accurate site measurements. * Replace damaged plywood, MDF, laminate, veneer and solid wood sections. * Support room refurbishment and renovation activities across the property. * Coordinate with Engineering colleagues when carpentry work interfaces with other technical trades. * Respond promptly to service requests and maintenance work orders. * Update Managers and Team Leaders on work progress and task completion status. * Communicate professionally with hotel guests when maintenance work is required in occupied areas. * Maintain hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment in safe working condition. * Keep workshops and work areas organized and suitable for safe operation. * Remove waste materials and leave completed work areas clean and hazard-free. * Follow established health, safety and fire procedures during all maintenance tasks. * Use appropriate protective equipment when operating tools or handling materials. * Identify recurring defects and report issues requiring more extensive repair or replacement. * Support emergency or urgent maintenance work when carpentry assistance is needed. * Assist other Engineering trades when practical and within technical capability. Ideal Profile * Practical experience in carpentry, joinery or property maintenance. * Strong carpentry and joinery skills for both repair and fabrication work. * Experience repairing hotel furniture, cabinetry, wardrobes and doors is advantageous. * Good understanding of furniture restoration and surface finishing. * Able to install and adjust door hardware accurately. * Experience with plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers and solid wood materials. * Confident using hand tools and power tools safely. * Ability to take accurate site measurements and fabricate components accordingly. * Strong attention to finish quality and visual detail. * Able to manage several maintenance requests while maintaining workmanship standards. * Good problem-solving skills for practical repair situations. * Comfortable communicating with guests during maintenance activities. * Able to work effectively with Engineering and facilities teams. * Basic awareness of MEP-related maintenance work is an advantage. * Strong understanding of workplace safety and housekeeping requirements.
