Job Description
• Responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical installations up to 33kV within the facility management site at SDGIPGR
• To ensure that all electrical systems operate efficiently, safely and in compliance with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations and statutory requirements
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, manage energy usage and coordinate with internal departments and contractors to minimize downtime
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Monitor and control electrical distribution systems, ensuring compliance with Energy Commission (ST) and Occupational Safety & Health (HSE) standards
• Conduct periodic inspections, testing and calibration of protection relays, circuit breakers and switchboards
• Respond to electrical faults, power failures and emergencies promptly to minimize downtime
• Prepare and maintain maintenance reports, technical documentation and logbooks as required by regulatory bodies
• Liaise with utility providers (e.g. TNB), contractors and internal departments on electrical matters, upgrades and planned shutdowns
• Manage energy efficiency initiatives and recommend cost-saving measures
• Train and supervise technicians and junior staff to ensure safe work practices
• Enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and safe isolation procedures during maintenance activities
Job Requirements
• Certificate of Competency Chargeman B0 (33kV) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission)
• Minimum 5–10 years of working experience in high-voltage operations, preferably in a facility management environment
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage distribution systems, protection schemes, and energy management
• Familiar with Electrical Supply Regulations 1994, Energy Commission Guidelines, and OSHA 1994
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and able to work on-call, including during weekends and public holidays if required
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams, authorities, and external contractors.
