This role is ideal for individuals beginning their culinary journey and eager to learn cold food preparation techniques. Who You Are: A Garde Manger Cook III must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: Basic knife skills. Ability to work pantry cold food station, (salads, dressings, basic cutting and slicing). Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and difficult situations. Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment. Basic mathematical skills. Must be able to obtain Food Handler’s Card. Ability to bend, stoop, stand, lift 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Ability to speak, read and write English. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply. What You Will Do: Assist in preparation of salads, fruit trays, sandwich items, and basic cold hors d’oeuvres. Wash, chop, peel, and portion ingredients under the guidance of senior cooks. Help set up and break down cold prep stations for service and events. Maintain clean work areas, tools, and cold storage units. Properly label and store food items to maintain freshness and safety. Follow instructions and hotel recipes closely to ensure consistency and quality. Learn and develop basic presentation techniques. Regular attendance in conformance with standards. May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs. Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Your Qualifications Include: Required High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 0–1 year of kitchen experience; culinary school or food prep training a plus. Interest in cold food preparation and decorative plating. Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean, organized workstation. Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physically able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent.
