JOB ANNOUNCEMENT The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Utah County and is dedicated to preserving public safety and maintaining peace within the community. Deputies perform a wide range of law enforcement duties, including patrol operations, criminal investigations, court security, emergency services, and oversight of the Utah County Correctional Facility. APPLICATION PROCESS The deadline for the upcoming June 2026 testing and interview process was May 28, 2026. The next testing and interview session is anticipated to take place approximately two to three months after June 2026. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be notified via email and provided with a Supplemental Questionnaire to complete as the first step in the testing process. The questionnaire allows applicants to highlight relevant work history, current Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) certifications, college transcripts or degrees, and specialized POST certifications. Deputy Sheriff I – Enforcement (Currently Attending POST Academy) Starting Pay: $30.74-$35.35 (Based on experience) Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED equivalent • Currently enrolled in a POST-approved Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) course and able to obtain certification within twelve (12) months, OR possess current Utah POST Law Enforcement Officer certification Deputy Sheriff II – Enforcement (Current Utah Law Enforcement Certification with Law Enforcement Experience) Starting Pay: $35.35-$40.61 (Based on experience) Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED equivalent • One (1) year of experience as a certified Law Enforcement Officer • Current Utah POST Law Enforcement Officer certification required SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS This recruitment is continuous and will remain open until positions are filled. Testing is conducted approximately every three months.
