At GovTech's AI Programme, we build the platforms and experiences that enable Singapore's public service to safely and effectively adopt AI at scale. As a Designer, you will help shape the next generation of AI-powered experiences used across government. You'll work on products ranging from AI assistants that support thousands of public officers to developer platforms that enable teams to build trusted AI applications. This is a hands-on product design role where you'll take ideas from discovery through delivery. You'll partner closely with other designers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists to uncover user needs, prototype solutions, validate assumptions, and ship experiences that are intuitive, trustworthy, and impactful. We are looking for designers who don't just produce screens, but help shape product direction through research, experimentation, collaboration, and continuous iteration.   [What you will be working on]   You'll contribute across multiple AI initiatives, including: AI-powered assistants — Designing conversational and task-oriented experiences that help public officers work more efficiently while maintaining trust, transparency, and appropriate human oversight. AI Platforms — Improving the tools and workflows that enable government teams to build, evaluate, and deploy AI applications at scale. Research across government — Understanding the diverse needs of ministries and agencies, translating complex workflows into simple, usable experiences. Design systems and interaction patterns — Helping establish reusable patterns for AI interactions, ensuring consistency across products. Key Responsibilities User Research & Discovery Plan and conduct discovery research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points faced by public officers across agencies. Design and run usability testing sessions to validate concepts and iterate on designs. Plan and facilitate surveys, workshops, and other participatory research methods to gather insights at scale. Synthesise research findings into actionable insights and communicate them clearly to product and engineering teams. UX & UI Design Design end-to-end user experiences, covering information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI. Design interactions that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with both user needs and business objectives. Build interactive prototypes in Figma to communicate design intent, making effective use of components and design system libraries. Contribute to and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across products. Balance user needs, technical constraints, and policy requirements when making design decisions.
