Description
DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 30 years of experience operating across global markets. This Software Developer - DevOps role is part of the Infrastructure team, focused on designing services, platforms, and automation tools that support engineering teams and production systems. You will develop reliable backend software, improve developer workflows, and contribute to operating scalable infrastructure based primarily on Kubernetes.
What You'll Do
• Design and develop reliable backend services and infrastructure tools in Python
• Develop, deploy, and operate applications and services on Kubernetes
• Create automation solutions that improve deployment, operation, and management of production systems
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows
• Work with relational databases and message-oriented systems including PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ
• Improve scalability, reliability, performance, and operability of distributed systems
• Collaborate with software developers and infrastructure specialists to solve complex technical challenges
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, and software architecture best practices
• Drive projects and lead new initiatives
• Migrate existing workloads to Kubernetes and maintain legacy production infrastructure not based on Kubernetes
What You Need
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3–7 years of experience developing and operating software systems
• Strong experience in Python development
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working with Linux systems
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, testing practices, and development best practices
• Autonomy, initiative, and ability to advance work independently
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Collaborative mindset, passion for problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with observability practices and tools (metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting)
