Description
About MDOTM MDOTM is a global leading provider of AI-driven investment solutions, growing across our offices in London, Milan, and New York. We recently closed a $27M growth equity round , led by Expedition Growth Capital, to support our continued international expansion. Our proprietary platform, Sphere, currently supports over $100B in assets under management for institutional clients including Morgan Stanley, Amundi, and Zurich Bank. Role Overview MDOTM, a leading provider of AI-driven investment solutions, is looking for an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Team. You will play a key role in supporting, enhancing, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure and tools that empower our product teams — contributing to a reliable, scalable, and efficient developer platform that enables fast and secure software delivery for Sphere, our proprietary AI-driven investment platform. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to the design, implementation, and automation of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) to ensure fast, safe, and repeatable releases across all environments. • Assist in the adoption and management of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible, helping provision and manage on-premise and AWS resources in a controlled, auditable, and reproducible manner. • Work with Docker and Kubernetes to package and operate services, contributing to declarative configuration, GitOps practices, and efficient resource utilization. • Help implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix), and participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and low Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR). • Contribute to embedding security best practices (OWASP Top 10, least privilege IAM, shift-left testing) into the SDLC and help automate security controls within pipelines. • Support the management and automation of database infrastructure (MySQL, MongoDB), including provisioning, backups, and automated schema migrations. • Automate and support the deployment, scaling, and operational health of core platform services (authentication, data pipelines, messaging) for internal consumers. • Participate in technical design discussions, learn from architectural decisions related to infrastructure and operations, and help document runbooks and standards. • Champion DevOps culture ("you build it, you run it") and share knowledge through demos, pair programming, and internal workshops. Skills Required • 1–3 years of professional experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role, with a focus on automation, infrastructure, and CI/CD • Hands-on experience working with and contributing to CI/CD pipelines • Practical experience with Docker and exposure to Kubernetes, including writing Dockerfiles and debugging containerized applications • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible • Experience with at least one monitoring, logging, or alerting system (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Zabbix), and curiosity for SRE principles • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating common tasks • Basic understanding of security best practices in the SDLC • Good analytical skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting system and infrastructure issues • Clear English communication, collaborative spirit, and a growth mindset aligned with a culture of shared ownership and rapid feedback Bonus points: • Experience with event-driven systems (e.g., ActiveMQ) • Contributions to open-source projects • Familiarity with backend development concepts (e.g., Java/Spring Boot) • Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals (EC2, S3, IAM) • Financial-services or high-throughput data processing background Why Join Us? • Work at the leading edge of technology, leveraging our decade of experience in proprietary AI to power a platform trusted by top-tier institutional clients. • Truly flexible work environment — we care about output, not hours logged. • Collaborate daily with an ultra-international team (18+ nationalities) across our Milan, London, and New York offices. • Annual company retreat at a stunning location, because we invest in our people beyond the day job. • Real, fast-track career progression, with outsized growth opportunities for early team members.
