Description
Encoura is seeking an Azure DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to own and operate complex, cloud-native platforms supporting enterprise products. This hands-on role provides full system ownership within a DevOps team, requiring the engineer to design, automate, and support highly available Azure and AWS environments, lead cloud migrations, optimize cloud spend, and serve as a primary on-call responder for critical systems.
What You'll Do
• Own and maintain the reliability, performance, and availability of large-scale production systems, monitoring dashboards, reviewing alerts, and resolving incidents
• Serve as primary on-call and incident responder for customer-impacting issues, triaging, coordinating resolution, and leading post-mortems
• Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Octopus Deploy
• Automate Azure infrastructure and services using Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform and ARM/Bicep templates
• Drive cloud cost optimization, scalability, and auto-scaling initiatives across hosted environments and implement security best practices
What You Need
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience (7+ years if degree is in an unrelated field)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure production environments
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Octopus Deploy
• Strong scripting and automation skills with demonstrated ability to lead cloud migrations, infrastructure automation, and incident response at scale
• Experience with Azure services including Web Apps, Functions, SQL, Storage, Key Vaults, and Entra ID; solid understanding of Azure billing and cost modeling
Nice to Have
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Experience supporting application development teams in iterative development environments using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
• Strong understanding of security best practices, system hardening, and compliance standards
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows systems in production environments
Annual base salary range $116,000–$128,800; eligible for variable compensation in addition to base salary. Comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off, and employee well-being programs.
