Description
A tech pioneer in online entertainment and gaming platforms is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a night shift role (6 PM to 2 AM EST/EDT). You will support and improve production and development infrastructure for 15+ development teams managing 100+ products and billions of daily hits, working in a hybrid environment with offices in Montreal, Austin, and Nicosia.
What You'll Do
• Support and improve hybrid production infrastructure environments serving 15+ development teams with 100+ products, 10K+ domains, and billions of daily hits
• Help developers solve complex technical problems across multiple stacks and environments
• Architect and plan improvements to multi-datacenter development environments
• Participate in design decisions including new technology research and prototyping
• Advocate for and assist development teams in migrating services to automated and elastic infrastructures (Cloud, Kubernetes, Serverless)
• Document processes and monitor performance metrics across all environments and services
• Promote and implement proper CI/CD strategies and practices
• Support and expand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) setup coverage
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers in best practices and professional development
What You Need
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar DevOps or Systems Administrator role working with Linux environments
• Experience with at least one of the three major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Hands-on experience provisioning servers, virtual machines, and services with VMWare or equivalent
• Strong understanding of scalability patterns applied to infrastructure architecture for high-traffic systems
• Kubernetes experience
• Proficiency with configuration management and/or orchestration tools such as Ansible
• Ability to debug and code in Python (preferably) and script
• Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure setup in web hosting/delivery environments (DNS, HTTPS, WAF)
• Good knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery models and best practices
• Experience managing highly available database clusters and cache systems
• Knowledge of monitoring processes and tools
• Comfortable with command line, scripting, and configuring applications such as web servers and load balancers
• Self-sufficient with excellent communication and time management skills
Nice to Have
• Advanced experience with Elasticsearch
• Advanced experience with Percona Server for MySQL
• Experience managing GitLab server instances
• Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes across all major cloud providers
• Natural leadership abilities
