Position Overview As a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician / Diesel Mechanic , you will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered trucks, buses, and heavy equipment. Both shop technician and mobile diesel mechanic positions are available. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in: • Diesel engines • Fleet maintenance • Heavy-duty truck repair • Bus repair • Preventative maintenance (PM) • Electrical systems • Hydraulics • Brakes and driveline systems • Mobile service repair Key Responsibilities • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel trucks and buses • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services (PMs) • Repair and maintain diesel engines, brakes, drivetrains, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems • Read technical manuals and repair documentation • Remove and replace parts efficiently within standard repair times • Complete accurate service and repair documentation • Maintain clean and safe work areas • Operate mobile equipment and perform road service calls when needed • Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and team members • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines • Assist with parts inventory and supply management Qualifications Required: • High School Diploma or GED • Minimum 2 years of heavy-duty diesel or fleet maintenance experience • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel systems • Ability to read and write in English • Ability to work overtime as needed Preferred: • Diesel Technology Certification or Trade School Training • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) • Experience with fleet maintenance software and diagnostics • Experience with multiple makes and models of trucks and buses Skills & Experience Ideal candidates will have knowledge of: • Diesel engine repair • Electrical diagnostics • Hydraulics • Brake systems • Power transmissions • Driveline systems • Preventative maintenance programs • DOT inspections • Mobile diesel repair
