About the American Connection Corps: The American Connection Corps  (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment. ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities. About The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes mission is to promote economic development, education, and health to ensure tribal members receive the highest quality of life while actively protecting and maintaining their traditional customs, beliefs, sovereignty, and self-determination. Position Overview The Digital Navigator Coordinator (Member) will support community-based digital inclusion activities focused on expanding access to digital tools, skills, and knowledge for Tribal community members and residents of rural Idaho. This role is essential in helping bridge the digital divide by promoting broadband adoption, delivering digital literacy training, and supporting community outreach. The navigator will collaborate under staff guidance with Tribal departments, schools, healthcare providers, elders, and youth to promote inclusive participation in today’s digital world while honoring the cultural values of the Tribes. As broadband access expands across Idaho’s rural and underserved communities, the Digital Navigator Coordinator will support community members in accessing opportunities related to education, telehealth, economic development, and civic engagement. The digital navigator coordinator will provide digital navigation assistance, training, and support to help Tribal and rural community members build digital skills and confidence in the digital age. Key Responsibilities Deliver and facilitate program-approved community training workshops on basic computer use, internet safety, email, telehealth tools, and online learning platforms under staff supervision and using approved materials and curriculum. Promote awareness of publicly available digital resources and assist community members in accessing educational materials and online services. Support community members in developing digital skills that may assist with employment readiness and access to workforce resources and opportunities. Provide information and referral support regarding available workforce development resources in accordance with approved program procedures. Provide digital literacy support and instruction that helps community members navigate telemedicine platforms and health portals. Collaborate with Tribal Health under staff direction to support digital access activities that may reduce barriers to accessing healthcare services through virtual tools and remote appointments. Promote safe, inclusive use of social and collaborative platforms to enhance communication among Tribal families and leadership. Encourage civic engagement and participation in community life through digital tools and virtual programming through education and outreach activities. Offer individualized and group-based digital coaching, including job search strategies, resume building, and academic support. Track community participation and collect participant feedback and outcome information for staff review and approved reporting purposes to support continuous improvement efforts. All functions and activities performed by the AmeriCorps Member are completed under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff.
