Description
Our people are the best part about Demetres and we're always looking for the right people to carry the tradition of excellence. Demetres is a place where good things happen. We serve brilliant desserts that are handcrafted in store, with our own craft ice creams made right here in our central kitchen.
As a Dishwasher at our central commissary, you will be responsible for keeping our production equipment, utensils, and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized to the highest standard. Behind every dessert Canadians have loved for over 35 years is a team that takes quality seriously, and that starts with a clean kitchen.
If you take pride in doing things right and understand that cleanliness is the foundation of great food, we want you on our team.
What You'll Do
• Keep It Clean: Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment, utensils, and food-contact surfaces according to established cleaning schedules and SOPs.
• Run the Station: Operate commercial dishwashing and sanitizing equipment safely and correctly.
• Own Your Area: Maintain cleanliness of the dish pit, wash stations, and surrounding production areas throughout your shift.
• Handle with Care: Follow proper chemical handling and dilution procedures at all times.
• Stay on Record: Document cleaning and sanitation activities as required.
• Speak Up: Communicate any equipment issues, damaged items, or sanitation concerns to the production supervisor.
• Team Player: Support the team during changeovers and end-of-day deep cleans.
What You Bring
• Attention to Detail: You take cleanliness seriously and don't cut corners.
• Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs. , and bending throughout a shift.
• Reliability: Punctual, consistent, and a dependable member of the team.
• Coachability: Able to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to SOPs.
• Bonus Points: Previous experience in a food manufacturing or HACCP environment is a strong asset.
Why You'll Love It Here
• The Vibe: Great tunes and a team that likes working with each other.
• The Perks: Employee discounts (yes, the ice cream is that good).
• The Balance: Set shifts that respect your time.
• The Growth: We love to promote from within!
