Has a general knowledge of the work function Chevron ’s   Shale & Tight   Business is accepting online applications for the position of   Electronic Instrumentation   Specialist   (EIS)   Apprentice   located   in   multiple locations ,   through   August   17th ,   20 26  at 11:59 PM ( Central   Standard Time). The EIS Apprenticeship is designed to   build   technical skills in the electrical and instrumentation discipline   and gain   experience in field operations. As part of the program, apprentices will work with a range of equipment and systems such as overhead power lines, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), transmitters, and communication systems and more, providing valuable exposure to real-world applications in the industry. Through a combination of structured training and immersive on-the-job learning, Apprentices are introduced to the complexity and criticality of work management, maintenance execution, and equipment servicing/repair.   The   position provides direct exposure to the Chevron Way Values and the strong safety culture that defines the Shale & Tight Business. Apprentices   will   work closely with a   dedicated mentor, complete two assign ments across different operational areas to develop a broad understanding of how teams   an d functions work together to safely deliver production and minimize   downtime and   will also   participate   in computer-based and classroom training . This is a   temporary   6 ‑ month   field-based   position . Required Qualifications • High School   Diploma   or equivalent • Must have a v alid   Driver's   License • Ability and willingness to   work day   and night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned work   schedule . • Live within 50 miles of the work location or willingness to   relocate   within 50 miles of the work location for the duration of the apprenticeship • This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must   demonstrate   personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven record in Safety and Reliability Preferred Qualifications • Applicants must meet at least one of the following: complete an Applied Associates of Science degree (such as   Instrumentation and   Control   (PLC) , Computer Information Systems,   Automation,   Electrical, Electronics   or related field)   OR   have equivalent education or military training   OR   finish a certificate program   degree (such as Instrumentation and Control (PLC), Computer Information Systems, Automation, Electrical, Electronics or related field)   with previous oil & gas or similar industry experience.   Additionally , a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes is   required , and   transcripts   must be uploaded to the applicant’s online profile • Previous   experience with reliability,   safety   and/or envir onmental   process related issues. • Previous   experience   with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation • Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications . • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and   intern al and external customers . IMPORTANT NOTE As part of the application process, you will   be required   to take an assessment that measures aptitude and work styles. We recommend you allow approximately   45   minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting. If you need to exit, your progress will be saved. You will be   immediately   directed to the testing portal upon   submitting   your application, at which point you will have   72 hours   to complete the online assessment . Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for   180 days . Should you reapply for another Job Requisition within this   timeframe   that includes the  Maintenance Assessment , you will   be required   to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link. This will resubmit your   previous   results . Candidates will need to   successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
