Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an   energetic and innovative   entry-level Electrical Engineer   based at our   Counterbalance Development Center   (CBDC)   in   Portland, Oregon . This position plays   an important role   in developing lift trucks and implementing robotic technology into current products by creating,   modifying , and implementing solutions across multiple platforms.  As a global team-member you will interact with all aspects of the   organization;   including manufacturing, procurement, and   test , to ensure that we deliver quality trucks . What you will do: • Design and develop electrical systems and components for industrial trucks, ensuring performance, durability, and reliability. • Translate vehicle-level requirements into detailed system and   component   specifications for new and existing products. • Test and   validate   electrical components both in laboratory environments and on actual trucks to ensure quality standards are met. • Analyze and resolve issues with electrical systems through root cause investigation and collaboration with cross-functional teams. • Document designs and evaluations, supporting manufacturing, marketing, and service departments for efficient product delivery. What you will need: • Education :   Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering • Experience : Recent graduate or   possessing   limited professional experience Skills, Experience & Abilities • Basic understanding of electrical components, circuits, control theory, electric motor drive theory, power electronics, and battery management systems. • Ability to create system diagrams and electrical schematics. • Familiarity with automotive and industrial communication protocols, such as J1939 and CAN. • Ability and willingness to   operate   forklift trucks, with training provided if needed. • Basic skills in drafting, computer-aided design (CAD), design layouts, engineering analysis, and automotive technology. • Awareness of real-time control networks used for   vehicle   and industrial machinery. • Basic knowledge of control system design and architecture, including both hardware and software for embedded systems.
