Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in industrial or commercial environments. This role ensures that all electrical work complies with safety regulations and supports operational efficiency.
This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision. Smaller/easier decisions are made autonomously. This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.
Key Responsibilities
Install and maintain wiring, lighting, and electrical systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
Follow blueprints and technical diagrams.
Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
Document work performed and materials used.
Collaborate with other technicians and departments.
Skills & Qualifications
May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and up to 2 years of relevant experience to carry out the role.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
Ability to use tools such as voltmeters and cable testers 1.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and follow procedures.
Physical stamina and attention to detail.
