Job Summary: The Floorman is a key team member in the brick manufacturing process, responsible for  maintaining  the efficient operation of production areas. This role involves performing manual and mechanical tasks to ensure the smooth flow of materials, equipment, and processes while adhering to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: • Material Handling: • Load and unload raw materials, finished products, and other supplies manually or using  appropriate equipment  (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). • Monitor and manage the flow of materials to ensure consistent production. • Production Support: • Assist  in setting up and operating machinery used in brick production. • Monitor machines during operations to  identify  malfunctions or irregularities and report them to supervisors. • Perform routine inspections and  maintenance on  equipment to prevent downtime. • Quality Assurance: • Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects or inconsistencies. • Remove and discard defective products or materials as per  company  standards. • Housekeeping and Safety: • Keep the production area clean and free of debris to  maintain  a safe working environment. • Follow all company safety protocols and  participate  in safety training sessions. • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. • Team Collaboration: • Work closely with other team members, including machine operators, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to meet production goals. • Communicate effectively about issues or improvements needed in the production process. Physical Requirements • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing , twisting. • Lifting and carrying materials up to 50-100 pounds, occasionally. • Climbing stairs and ladders as needed • Repetitive hand and arm movements • Ability to work in environments with elevated temperatures Work Environment • Industrial manufacturing environment • Exposure to dust, heat, steam, and noise • Exposure to moving mechanical equipment • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read, write, and understand written instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation • Basic mechanical aptitude • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers • Ability to  maintain  attention to safety and quality standards Education and Experience • High School Diploma or GED preferred • Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred Schedule • Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM • Night Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 3:00 AM (Occasionally may  be required  to work Fridays) • May be  required  to work weekends or holidays based on production needs • Overtime may be  required  based on production demands Safety Requirements • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures • Must  complete and pass all required safety training • Must wear required PPE while performing job duties • Must  immediately  report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries • Participate  in safety meetings Essential Functions and Reasonable Accommodation Cherokee Brick & Tile Company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities  in accordance with  the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
