Description
Sparkify, a Berlin-based documentation software company for electricians founded in 2020, is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to take operational ownership of their production web platform. You will own a PHP 8/Symfony backend and Vue 3 frontend serving real users daily, managing the complete stack from API to UI while keeping billing flowing and the system stable.
What You'll Do
• Own the Symfony service fleet including API, authentication, payment processing, notifications, image handling, and PDF report generation services
• Maintain and develop the Vue 3 + Vuetify + TypeScript single-page application used by electricians in the field
• Ship features end-to-end across checkout, billing, workspace, admin, and documentation flows
• Run and improve production infrastructure on Hetzner servers with GitHub Actions CI, SSH deploys, Cloudflare DNS, Pulumi infrastructure-as-code, and observability via Sentry, Datadog, and Grafana
• Work with Couchbase and Sync Gateway for document-based data modeling and mobile synchronization
What You Need
• At least 5 years of full-stack engineering experience with strong PHP/Symfony proficiency
• Genuine comfort with complex, nested JSON and document-based data modeling (Couchbase required conceptually, not necessarily prior hands-on experience)
• Solid modern frontend skills, ideally with deep Vue 3 experience; strong engineers from React, Angular, or Svelte welcome if able to become productive quickly
• Comfortable with Git submodules and modular, multi-service repository structures
• DevOps capability: comfortable with Linux servers, DNS, CI/CD pipelines, and production debugging
• Excellent English proficiency, spoken and written
Nice to Have
• Good German language skills
• E-commerce or payments experience with platforms like Mollie or Stripe
• Pulumi or infrastructure-as-code experience
• Prior Couchbase experience
Competitive salary and compensation package. Equipment coverage (Mac, phone, home-office setup), Deutschland-Ticket, and supplementary health allowance (~€600/year). Home-office friendly with weekly in-person collaboration expected.
