Job Title:  Head of Global Partnerships (Maternity Cover) Location: UK, Remote Hours:  Full Time Salary: Circa £70k, dependent on experience Contract Type:  12-month fixed term contract Reports To:  Director of Strategy Direct Reports:  Partnerships Manager and Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager (Matrix) Key Internal Contacts/Relationships:  ExCo, Regional directors and their teams, Programme Managers, HALO Europe, MEAL. Key External Contacts/Relationships:   Donors, including Minsters and senior civil servants; HALO Ambassadors and supporters. Job Purpose: The Head of Global Partnerships will drive the HALO Trust’s resource-mobilisation strategy, cultivating, securing, and stewarding relationships with major institutional donors outside of the EU and US. The role will lead the Global Partnerships strategy for diversifying income streams seeking non-traditional donors to ensure sustainable growth and high-impact partnerships, aligning partner interests with HALO’s global mission.  About HALO: HALO is the leading global NGO addressing the impact and drivers of conflict in 30 countries and territories, with over 8,000 staff. Most of our staff are local employees and include a growing number of women. Our primary duty is to serve people affected by conflict, clearing landmines and the explosive remnants of war that threaten lives and livelihoods long after fighting has finished. We make land safe where war has ended, while also assisting those affected by active conflict and endemic violence. HALO addresses human suffering caused by armed violence in some of the world’s most fragile places, securing weapons and ammunition and working with both state and community actors to reduce the prevalence of armed violence. About the role: This role is responsible for securing multi-year, flexible, and sustainable funding to support HALO operations, ensuring that the HALO is positioned as a partner of choice in both conflict and post-conflict-affected settings. The role leads a team that manages the full contract management cycle, from identification and proposal submission to stewardship and reporting.  It holds overall responsibility for the Global Partnerships team’s work to maintain and strengthen existing relationships with HALO key donors including the UK, Ireland and Canada and seeking new opportunities for funding and support from non-traditional donors such as Japan, Australia and New Zealand, among others.  Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Income Growth: Develop and implement a Global Partnerships Strategy to secure increased, stable, and flexible funding from non-traditional donors in alignment with HALO priorities.  Achieve annual income targets: Directly responsible for hitting budgeted income targets for a designated portfolio of donors. Hold accountability for HALO’s Global Partnerships stretch targets. Relationship Management & Diplomacy: Develop and maintain high-level, long-term relationships with bilateral and multilateral partners, embassies, and key government stakeholders to advance funding goals. Donor Stewardship & Reporting: Lead a team in project design negotiations with institutional donors, proposal drafting, and finalisation of partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with both donor and HALO regulations. Contract Management: Oversee the preparation of high-quality proposals, donor reports, and financial reports that demonstrate the impact of HALO’s work. Operational Collaboration: Work closely with HALO Regional and Deputy Regional Directors and key Programmes Managers and technical experts to shape funding opportunities and enhance strategic cooperation.
