Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Provide technical leadership in the development and execution of control system strategies for FPSO operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control system initiatives with project objectives and company standards.
Advanced Control Strategies:
Design and implement advanced control algorithms to optimize FPSO processes, including Model Predictive Control (MPC) and adaptive control strategies.
Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance control system performance and reliability.
Integration and Interface Management:
Oversee the integration of electrical and control systems with other subsystems, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Manage interfaces with third-party vendors for control system hardware and software.
Technical Oversight:
Conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of complex control system issues.
Risk Management and Safety:
Participate in risk assessments and HAZOP studies to identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for electrical and control system configurations, logic diagrams, and software versions.
Generate regular reports on system performance and reliability, and recommend improvements.
Set the standard for delivering world-class operational HSE performance through leadership and example.
Provide proactive and visible HSE leadership through language, behavior, and actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or related field).
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in control system engineering.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC 61850, ISA-95, and API standards.
Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, and automation technologies within the oil & gas industry.
Experience with Siemens PCS7 systems is highly preferred.
Project management experience with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
