Contribute to annual revenue targets by identifying, recommending and closing new deal opportunities. Participate in selling/pitching the firm’s products and services. Develop, define and lead the execution of product offerings and strategies. Target new business opportunities. Coach, mentor and actively guide investment banking team members. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Contribute to annual revenue targets set forth by senior management by identifying, recommending and closing new deal opportunities.
Participate in selling/pitching the firm’s products/services. Work with VPs, associates and analysts to appropriately position pitch, utilize unique and creative analyses approaches to showcase offerings and develop materials that engage and inform clients.
Develop and define product offerings/strategies, leveraging expertise, William Blair intellectual capital, as well as knowledge of client issues and core business drivers. Keep clients apprised of latest product offerings and most current trends and market intelligence.
Lead the execution of various product offering strategies on behalf of the firm’s clients. Ensure communication and knowledge sharing with Investment Banking teams.
Maintain effective client partnerships. Proactively identify relevant strategic issues and core drivers of client business. Provide client with high quality advice and insights.
Target new business opportunities, expanding relationships with existing clients and identifying new clients and referral sources.
Maintain knowledge of current market conditions and macro and microeconomic themes that drive markets and investor sentiment.
Coach, mentor and actively guide team members. Encourage team to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
Actively participate in recruiting and training activities.
Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
MBA strongly preferred
Previous investment banking experience required, 9+ years strongly preferred
SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired (for US only)
Strong ability to lead transaction processes and pitch new business with minimal senior banker oversite
Strong ability to work on multiple projects and transactions
Ability to supervise and serve as a role model for junior staff and target areas for their development
Act as a team player that fosters sense of teamwork and community by participating in recruiting, reviews, mentoring, and firm committees
Strong work ethic and ability to work in an entrepreneurial culture
Detail oriented with deep analytical abilities
Superior mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
Strong desire to win

Remains calm and focused under pressure
Deep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and finance
Commitment to satisfying internal and external customers
Travel required: 30 to 60%

This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
