Description
Investment Director About NLC NLC Health Ventures is a health tech venture builder that creates and scales pre-seed and early-stage ventures across Europe. At NLC, we foster a culture of collaboration and shared purpose, guided by our core values: Together, Open, Decisive, and Optimistic (TODO). We have a flat structure: your ideas and contributions matter more than your title, and we expect everyone to communicate openly and push back on hierarchy where it slows us down. Your Role We are looking for an Investment Director to lead NLC's search for new healthtech investments across Europe: sourcing and evaluating opportunities, negotiating and structuring deals, and deploying capital with discipline against market need, scalability, buyer relevance, and exit potential. You will also expand NLC's institutional partnerships with healthtech corporates and investors, and play a supporting role in strengthening the performance of priority ventures already in the portfolio. Your mission is to turn clinical and technological innovation into measurable commercial, financing and strategic outcomes, working closely with venture CEOs, healthtech corporates, investors and strategic buyers. Core Responsibilities: Investment Sourcing and Execution Identify and evaluate new healthtech investment opportunities across Europe, applying rigorous diligence on market need, scalability, buyer relevance and exit potential. Structure and negotiate new investments: deal terms, licence agreements and capital deployment. Lead new venture incorporation: licence negotiation, CEO selection, legal incorporation and early strategy development. Build and expand institutional partnerships with healthtech corporates and investors to strengthen deal flow and co-investment opportunities. Managing team members to develop and execute venture creation and portfolio management strategy.. Support NLC's fundraising for Fund V alongside Partners and Investor Relations team. Supporting Responsibilities: Portfolio and Exit Support Contribute to portfolio performance reviews for priority ventures, alongside milestone tracking and prioritisation led by the venture team. Help define financing and exit pathways with CEOs for priority ventures, matched to strategic buyer and institutional market requirements. Support venture CEOs by sparring on strategy, team building, connecting them to development and clinical partners, service providers, advisors, capital providers, and strategic buyers. Contribute to exit processes for priority ventures: target identification, data room input and negotiation support. Your Profile 8 to 15 years of experience in healthtech investing, deal sourcing, diligence, structuring or venture building. Venture capital experience strongly preferred; comparable experience in corporate development, M&A or operating roles in high-growth healthtech companies also considered. Track record of sourcing, evaluating and closing early-stage healthtech investments. Deep healthtech domain expertise, with a sophisticated understanding of regulatory, reimbursement, clinical and commercial drivers. Strong commercial judgment: able to identify what creates enterprise value and where capital is best deployed. Experience negotiating licence agreements, term sheets and investment structures. Institutional capital fluency and the ability to communicate investment rationale clearly to investors and Partners. A natural connector who builds relationships and coalitions to source and close deals. Performance-oriented, decisive, commercially sharp, low ego and aligned with NLC's mission. Based in Europe, preference for the Netherlands given regular presence required in the Amsterdam office; flexibility to work remotely otherwise. What We Offer High-impact role with direct ownership of sourcing, structuring and closing NLC's healthtech investments, and a voice in shaping portfolio strategy. Flat str
