You will work on Embedded Linux solutions that power and connect sophisticated machines used by farmers around the world. This is an opportunity to combine software development with real-world engineering impact while further developing your skills in embedded systems, integration, automation,  security  and automotive communication protocols. About the Role We are looking for an engineer with  g ood software development foundations and an interest in growing within Embedded Linux and embedded software development . The position is suitable for someone who  has gained initial practical experience , but who also wants to continue learning and developing within an experienced team. The role covers different areas of embedded software development, including implementation, integration,  infrastructure  and testing. You do not need to be an expert in  all of  these areas. We are looking for someone who is  curious, willing to learn and ready to gradually take on more responsibility as their knowledge and experience grow . Experience with automotive security concepts or communication protocols is an advantage but is not  required , as these topics are increasingly relevant for the development and validation of new features. Main Responsibilities • Develop and maintain software components for Embedded Linux systems • Contribute to the implementation and integration of new features • Work with Yocto-based environments and assist with BSP integration and deliveries • Develop scripts, tools and supporting solutions using Python and Bash • Use C or C++ where relevant to the assigned development topics • Support software integration across different hardware and software platforms • Contribute to the development, integration and testing infrastructure • Participate in component, integration and system-level testing • Develop and maintain automated tests where appropriate • Support the analysis of technical issues, debugging and troubleshooting • Contribute to CI/CD and development automation activities • Gain exposure to automotive communication protocols and security • Collaborate with developers, testers and client stakeholders • Take responsibility for assigned tasks and technical topics with support from more experienced team members • Learn new technologies and gradually contribute across different areas of the project What is important to us • Working knowledge of Embedded Linux • Basic to good knowledge of Python • C or C++ • Basic experience with Bash or other shell scripting • Working knowledge of Git • Basic understanding of software testing and test automation concepts • Basic ability to analyze technical problems and work towards practical solutions • Collaborative and comfortable working in distributed teams Desirable Skills • Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: • Yocto • Linux BSP concepts, development, integration or validation • CI/CD pipelines • Docker • Automotive communication protocols, particularly CAN Personal Qualities • Curious and open to learning unfamiliar technologies • Comfortable asking questions and seeking support when needed • Willing to learn from more experienced team members and share knowledge • Adaptable to changing priorities and new challenges • Open to working with different technologies and technical areas What we offer • Work life blend: we offer a safe & healthy workplace, with flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home • Profit share scheme:   In addition to your annual salary, you may receive a profit share defined by the company’s success in the previous year • Global and Diverse Zühlke community: witness how colleagues from all our 16 offices across the globe come together to create a unique, positive and inclusive work culture, learning from one another at annual team camps, and celebrating year-end parties and other local festivities. • Committed to development: we are committed to the growth of our people and are investing in your development.
