From pioneering carbon composite rocket technology to delivering reliable and rapid launch services, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in aerospace.   ABOUT THE ROLE   We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Launch Safety Operations team in Auckland. In this role, you will design and develop software for Launch Safety Operations, contributing to critical systems that ensure safe launch operations.   This is an opportunity to work on real space technology projects and contribute to missions that are literally reaching for the stars.   WHAT YOU WILL DO   Process Automation: Development of software tools and scripts to interface with sensors and applications   Design and develop Range Surveillance and Flight Safety software by integrating external sensors and data feeds into a common operating picture   Establish and execute appropriate software development tests, validation, and verification processes   Maintain up-to-date work in progress tickets and regularly report on delivery of work   Collaborate with engineers and team members across multiple departments   Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   MUST HAVE:   Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline   Strong knowledge of C++ and Python   Experience with Git or similar source code management tools   Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracker   Strong communication and interpersonal skills   Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team   Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation   NICE TO HAVE:   An interest in maritime and/or aviation operations and systems including Navigation processors, NMEA, AIS, ADS-B, or working with geospatial datasets   Previous internship or project experience in software development   Experience with sensor integration or data processing   Knowledge of flight safety systems   WHAT WE OFFER   Hands-on experience working on real aerospace and space technology projects   Mentorship from world-class engineers and industry professionals   Exposure to cutting-edge rocket and spacecraft systems   Opportunity to work on launch safety and
