The Keltic Resort is a historic resort located in the heart of the magnificent Cape Breton Highlands National Park, proudly overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. We are seeking a hardworking and efficient Laundry Attendant to manage the resort’s linen operations. You will be responsible for the high-volume processing of towels, bed linens, napkins, and tablecloths. Your goal is to ensure that the Housekeeping and Food & Beverage teams always have a steady supply of crisp, clean, and perfectly folded linens to meet our luxury standards.If you are passionate about providing world-class guest service and thrive in a fast-paced, scenic environment, we offer the unique opportunity to live, work, and grow within Canada's largest multi-course golf operator. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Sort all incoming soiled linens by fabric type, color, and degree of staining. Inspect items for damage or permanent stains, diverting them for special treatment or retirement.
• Operate industrial washers and dryers, ensuring the correct chemical settings and water temperatures are used for different fabric types (e.g. delicate spa robes vs. heavy-duty kitchen towels).
• Operate industrial ironers for bed sheets and table linens to ensure a "crisp" professional finish. Fold all items neatly according to resort standards.
• Identify and treat tough stains using appropriate safe chemicals before the washing cycle begins.
• Organize clean linens on shelving for pickup by Room Attendants and F&B staff. Assist in conducting monthly linen inventory counts to track "par" levels.
• Clean lint traps and perform basic daily cleaning of laundry equipment. Report any mechanical issues or unusual noises immediately to the Maintenance team.
• Handle laundry detergents and sanitizing chemicals safely, following all WHMIS protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complying with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and GolfNorth Health & Safety program.
Qualifications:
• 1 year of hotel experience preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic and basic guest service knowledge.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a warm, humid environment. Ability to lift and move large bags of laundry (up to 40 lbs) and push heavy linen carts.
• Ability to spot small stains or tears that would compromise the guest experience.
• Ability to maintain a high-paced workflow to keep up with the "turnover" demands of the resort.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments regarding urgent linen needs.
• A valid license is required for operating property vehicles.
Language Requirements:
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required for all positions to ensure effective communication across the resort.
• Proficiency in French or other languages (e.g., German, Spanish, Mandarin) is considered a significant asset for customer-facing roles.
