Description
A manufacturing-focused sensor company is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the deployment, validation, and optimization of calibration and test systems for next-generation LiDAR sensors. The role bridges R&D and high-volume production, ensuring products meet quality standards, performance metrics, and cost targets while working with cross-functional teams and Contract Manufacturers.
What You'll Do
• Deploy, validate, and optimize calibration and test systems for LiDAR sensors, partnering with Contract Manufacturers to install, debug, and maintain systems during pilot-line and mass-production phases
• Analyze production data using SPC and yield analysis to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test failures; drive corrective and preventive actions using 8D and 5 Whys methodologies
• Design, develop, and integrate PCBA test stations (ICT and FCT) into the manufacturing line; drive Design for Testability (DfT) initiatives
• Create and maintain technical documentation including test procedures, operator work instructions, and calibration procedures; lead integration with factory MES systems for traceability and quality visibility
• Conduct gage R&R studies for line qualification and station matching; prepare MSA reports and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives through manufacturing data analysis
What You Need
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing product testing, specifically with high-precision electro-mechanical assemblies or LiDAR
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation, test data analysis, and scripting; Linux shell script experience
• In-depth knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Gage R&R studies
• Proven ability to work with external vendors and Contract Manufacturers for factory bring-up
Nice to Have
• Experience working with industrial robots and handling systems
