CIQ builds enterprise infrastructure for demanding workloads across operating systems, AI, HPC, and cloud-native platforms. As a Linux Kernel Development Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain Linux kernel components for Rocky Linux and related products, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading technical projects from the kernel layer upward. What You'll Do • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components for CIQ's products and services • Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues including memory management, process scheduling, and inter-process communication • Develop and maintain kernel-specific testing and automation tools to improve build, test, and release processes • Conduct performance analysis and optimization of kernel components to meet specified performance targets • Review code submissions and provide constructive feedback; mentor junior developers on kernel development practices What You Need • Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux kernel development with strong focus on system-level programming and device driver development • Proficiency in C programming and deep understanding of low-level system programming concepts • In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel internals, file systems, device drivers, and kernel module development • Familiarity with hardware platforms and architectures including x86 and ARM and their interactions with the Linux kernel • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Nice to Have • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and collaborative development workflows • Familiarity with virtualization and embedded Linux aspects • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving complex kernel-level issues Medical, dental, and vision insurance; flexible paid time off; employee stock options
