The Children's Center is seeking a strong and experienced Managing Director to lead our Allentown school. This role serves as the senior leader of the school, responsible for daily operations, team leadership, enrollment growth, compliance, and the overall experience for children and families. The Managing Director leads the school as a high-performing organization while maintaining the highest standards in safety, education, professionalism, and service. This is a leadership role for someone who is organized, decisive, and passionate about building strong teams and successful programs. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Lead the daily operations of the school • Manage staffing, scheduling, and ratios • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility • Monitor operational performance and report to leadership Enrollment & Family Experience • Lead tours and enrollment growth • Ensure strong communication with families • Address concerns quickly and professionally • Maintain excellent family satisfaction Team Leadership • Recruit, interview, and develop staff • Conduct classroom observations and coaching • Lead team meetings and build a positive culture • Hold staff accountable to performance expectations Compliance & Licensing • Ensure full compliance with DHS licensing and Keystone STARS standards • Maintain accurate documentation and records • Conduct internal audits to prevent violations Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Business, or related field preferred • Minimum  5 years leadership experience  in childcare, education, or a related management role • Experience managing a team of 10+ and daily operations within the last year • Knowledge of DHS licensing and Keystone STARS standards preferred • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Success in this role includes: • Maintaining  100% licensing compliance • Growing enrollment and maintaining waitlists • Strong staff retention and development • Maintaining Keystone STARS Level 4 standards • High family satisfaction About The Children's Center The Children's Center has provided childcare in downtown Allentown for approximately 100 years, The Children’s Center offers early childhood programs for infants (6 weeks) through Prekindergarten (5 years), as well as a before-school care, after-school care, and summer camp for elementary school students up to 5th Grade.
