Since moving into its state-of-the-art facility in 2009, equipped with advanced Communication and Information System (CIS) architecture, the Centre has provided NATO with a flexible and cost-effective environment for current operations, readiness activities, certification exercises, and experimentation. The JFTC delivers a wide range of capabilities, including: Collective Training: Planning, preparing, and executing static and distributed combined and joint training to support warfighting readiness. Exercises and Certification: Delivering complex, multi-domain and high-intensity exercises, including support for NATO Command Structure and NATO Force Structure exercises, as well as certification and pre-deployment training. Experimentation and Innovation: Supporting warfare development, concept development, experimentation, doctrine validation, and interoperability through advanced training environments, analytical wargaming, and its dedicated battle laboratory. Partnerships and Interoperability: Strengthening relationships with Allied and Partner nations while supporting the integration of national training organisations, regional security organisations, and NATO partnerships. Professional Development: Conducting training events, conferences, courses, and key leadership programmes that enhance NATO’s operational effectiveness and readiness. Overall, the JFTC plays a critical role in improving NATO’s interoperability, operational effectiveness, and readiness by providing world-class training, exercises, experimentation, and innovation capabilities for the Alliance. Role ID – JFTC-16-26-1   Role Duties and Responsibilities Provides Maritime subject matter support and advise to JFTC Opposing Force (OPFOR) and to Scenario Teams during the exercise planning, especially during the development of (iteration-specific) OPFOR Campaign Plans and during OPFOR workshops. Provides Maritime support to OPFOR team during exercise executions and/or executions of wargamings including maintaining the OPFOR Maritime Ops operational picture. Provides Maritime Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise in support of MEL/MIL workshops. Identifies requirements for external Maritime SME in support of MEL/MIL Workshops and coordinates a formal sourcing of them. Distributes available Maritime expertise across MEL/MIL workshops’ syndicates, guides, coordinates and controls Maritime SMEs’ MEL/MIL production. Supports the exercise’s MLI efforts.
