Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the Foundation team at a fast-growing Series A/B EdTech platform serving tens of millions of students worldwide. This team builds the technical base that product teams rely on — from the Flutter mobile app and core backend services to developer experience and AI infrastructure.
As a Mobile Platform Engineer, you will own the core of the Flutter app: shared components, architecture, and performance. You'll shape the standards that keep the wider engineering organisation productive. This is a high-leverage role — the systems you maintain determine how confidently other teams can ship features.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the core Flutter app, including shared components, the design system, performance monitoring, and tooling.
- Define how features are built by establishing patterns for state management and backend integration, and guide product teams in applying them.
- Improve the end-to-end developer workflow — from CI/CD and store distribution to internal tooling — removing recurring friction that slows other teams down.
- Integrate AI tooling into the codebase and workflows, and help determine its role in the product over time.
- Keep the existing foundation healthy and dependable so product teams can build on it with confidence.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
- Several years of experience delivering production software at scale, ideally including responsibility for the architecture of a mobile application.
- Strong, multi-year hands-on experience building mobile apps with Flutter and Dart.
- Solid mobile DevOps experience: CI/CD pipelines, app store distribution, and release management.
- A genuine interest in AI as an engineering surface — curiosity matters more than a formal background.
- A systems-thinker mindset: you reason clearly about trade-offs, communicate effectively across teams, and take satisfaction in foundational work whether or not your name is attached to a shipped feature.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: €80,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Work in a collaborative, mission-driven engineering team in a scaling EdTech company.
LOCATION
- Berlin, Germany — on-site role.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
