Description: Job Description Summary: Under the general direction of the Cyber Security and Network Engineer, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Infrastructure & Services, the Network & Systems Administrator will support and maintain a modern, secure technology environment spanning both network infrastructure and core enterprise systems. This role sits within the IT Infrastructure team and is responsible for the day-to-day health, availability, and documentation of network and server platforms that support academic, and administrative operations. Duties and Responsibilities: Job Duties and Accountabilities • Configure,   maintain , and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching (Cisco IOS), wireless (Aruba), VPN   ( FortiGate ),   firewall   policies   and   V oIP ( WebEx   Cloud Calling). • Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS (internal and external), DHCP, and Group Policy. Support   the Nutanix   AHV virtualization platform and   maintain   VM lifecycle management. • Support and   maintain   cloud platforms like O365, Azure AD / Entra ID,   Intune   configure &   deployment ,   and   Conditional   access policies. Monitoring and maintaining Rubrik,   performing   restore testing,   validating   backup   health,   and documen ting   the entire   process. • Maintain   accurate   and up-to-date network   and server   documentation including topology diagrams, IP address management, VLAN registers,   firewall   policy logs, and runbooks. Manage all network   and system   changes through the IT change management process including ticket creation, peer review, and post-implementation verification in the ITSM platform. • Act as   a primary   network   and systems   technical lead for client projects. Mentor junior team members.   Assists   in   establishing   standards, policies, and procedures as they apply to the use of these   Technologies. • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of overall IT strategic goals. Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required. • Minimum seven years of experience in the development and support of network servers, data center administration, and information technology security. • Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server, SCCM, Active Directory, enterprise backup solutions, and server virtualization required. • MCSA and MCITP certifications preferred • Experience using In-Tune and Auto Pilot to manage Windows Desktops is highly desirable • Experience with O365 administration is highly desirable Work Environment: Office Location: Oakland Campus – Onsite • This is an onsite position based in Oakland, CA, requiring regular in-office presence to support daily operations, collaboration, and student or team engagement. • Work is performed primarily on campus in a dynamic academic environment, with direct interaction across multidisciplinary teams.
