Position Overview The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the on-site planning and execution of the assigned projects specific to Special Events/Exhibits and Trade Shows lines of business. This role is responsible for managing and executing the installation and dismantle within the estimated, approved budget by planning, administering, and managing the onsite Hargrove team. Operations Managers manage on-site projects of small to medium scale across Special Events/Exhibits and Trade Shows. Working and training with Sr Operations Managers to learn Hargrove systems and on-site procedures. This role reports to the Sr Operations Manager. Key Job Responsibilities Project Management • Owns small to medium shows where an Sr. Operations Manager is not assigned; assuming similar duties as performed by the SOM; ensuring core event deliverables • Assigned to projects by Executive Director based on following criteria: · Teamed with Event Manager · Type of Client: small to medium-profile client · Complexity: Defined SOW, T90 and above · Revenue: $10,000-S100,000 • Participate in Project Planning Meeting owned by the Event Manager or Producer. • Manage pre-show planning, budget estimation, inventory evaluation, equipment rentals, pulling & preparing assets for shipment, transportation coordination, truck loading, show site installation & dismantle, and warehouse recovery of assets • Required to be on-job site from beginning of event install through dismantle • Required to attend assigned production meetings to learn the overall project scope • Accountable for the project production schedule that includes the areas of work, start and end times, and labor requirements per budget/ scope • Accountable for submitting labor calls to the Planning Office and the efficient use of union personnel on all Hargrove projects to ensure financial success • Responsible for submitting a load list of all equipment needed to the warehouse for asset prep, staging and loading • Responsible for providing delivery times and truck requirements to the Transportation Department to ensure the right equipment is delivered at the right time to the appropriate location • Responsible for ensuring the loading of equipment is handled and completed properly • Responsible for rental equipment orders and budget • Accountable for confirming all dates and times associated with the production schedule to ensure equipment delivery, installation and dismantle are successful • Responsible for being available during truck loading to ensure the right equipment is loaded on the right trailer in a manner that will eliminate the risk of damage in coordination with the Dock Manager • Responsible for signing in and out all union workers along with approving time sheets • Required to be the Safety Officer on show site to include safe work talks, a safe work environment and enforcement of the “Collective Bargaining Agreement” • Responsible for Daily meetings with Staff on show site • Responsible for developing a dismantle plan which includes trucking, labor, and show specific items to be saved • Responsible for writing a post-show report evaluating all aspects of the job and areas of improvement • Attend client meetings and site inspections as required • Participate in and support corporate initiatives for improving infrastructure, processes and procedures • Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams across many levels of management, including the executive leadership • Budget monitoring and management • Works well both independently and as a team player, both in the office and at show site with little to no supervision • Fluent using the English language, along with excellent written and oral communication skills • Positive approach to teamwork and problem solving • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and works well under pressure • Microsoft Office 365 experience preferred • Ability to read technical drawings • Ability to pass a high-level background check • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required • Willingness to travel ( Competency Group Deliver World Class Service • Hospitality • Ownership Do The Right Thing • Demonstrates Self-Awareness Drive Results • Ensures Accountability See The Big Picture • Decision Quality • Manages Complexity Value People • Collaborates For more information on our Competency Group, refer to the Competency Based Talent Management page on Encore Connect by searching for the title or copy & pasting this URL Link: (https://psav.sharepoint.com/sites/HR/SitePages/Competency-Supported-Talent-Management.aspx). Work Environment Hotel Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Hargrove based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area. Hourly Pay Range: $36.58 - $47.55 The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
