Description
Aeva is developing 4D LiDAR sensors that integrate all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip. This role involves leading layout and design automation for integrated photonics, managing CAD infrastructure, developing process design kits (PDKs), and ensuring compliance with design rules and DfX requirements across design, process, and test teams.
What You'll Do
• Drive schematic-driven layout and design activities, p-cell development, and PDK management for photonics components
• Participate in software selection and implementation of integrated photonics simulation and layout tools
• Establish roadmap for photonics design automation capabilities and infrastructure
• Work cross-functionally with design, process, and test teams to develop CAD infrastructure ensuring DfX compliance and foundry design rule adherence
• Manage in-house photonic component model and layout libraries with revision control and regression testing; monitor quality escapes and deploy corrective actions
What You Need
• 5+ years of integrated circuit layout and design automation experience, preferably in integrated photonics
• Comprehensive understanding of CAD development areas including simulation/layout automation, PDK development and management, and physical verification (LVS/DRC)
• Expertise in p-cell development, LVS/DRC run-set development, source code revision control, and regression testing
• Proficiency in commercial photonics layout tools from Cadence, Synopsys, Luceda, and Klayout
• Experience with Python and Linux shell scripting
Nice to Have
• Knowledge of silicon photonics and optoelectronic device physics
• Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes
• Experience with commercial photonics simulation software from Synopsys, Cadence, Luceda, and Ansys
Very competitive compensation and meaningful stock grants. Exceptional benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision. Unlimited PTO.
