We are hiring Press Operators to join a growing team in Columbus, IN. This is a temp-to-hire position (not direct placement). Candidates must submit a resume and demonstrate stable work history.
After successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, employees receive a $1.00/hour raise .
Shift Options
• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for operating automatic and/or manual compacting and sizing equipment according to established procedures and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
• Follow all plant safety policies
• Identify and report hazards
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
Production
• Review work instructions and process documentation daily
• Perform machine checks and make minor adjustments
• Load materials (powders/fluids) as required
• Use measuring tools to verify tolerances
• Reset automation and press faults
• Complete accurate production documentation
Quality
• Follow all quality standards and specifications
• Perform inspections per documentation requirements
• Comply with CARs, PARs, NCRs, and process controls
Continuous Improvement
• Participate in TPM and root cause initiatives
• Support process improvements and cost reduction efforts
• Maintain 5S housekeeping standards
Teamwork
• Follow direction from production leadership
• Communicate safety and quality concerns
• Support company policies and team goals
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 6+ months manufacturing experience preferred
• Press operation experience preferred
• Ability to read work instructions and technical drawings
• Experience with measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
