Description
WHY DEPT®?
We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.
We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.
At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.
THE ROLE
DEPT® is seeking a highly analytical, hands-on Principal Data Analyst (Adobe Customer Journey Analytics) to join our Web Analytics practice in North America. Mapped back to our platform-agnostic Data and Martech Crafts, this is an analyst-first seat for someone who knows CJA inside and out, from standing up connections and data views to designing calculated metrics and segments, to building the Analysis Workspace projects that decision-makers actually use.
What sets this role apart is judgment. You will not just operate the tool, you will decide which KPIs belong on a view, which visualization best represents a given trend, and how to structure a project so the insight is obvious. You will connect data from virtually any source into CJA, model it into clean data views, and build the reporting layer on top that turns "we have the data" into "here is what we should do."
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build the CJA Data Foundation: Configure connections and bring datasets from Adobe Experience Platform and other sources into CJA, connecting effectively any data source the business needs to analyze.
Model Clean Data Views: Design and maintain data views, including time zones, attribution and allocation settings, and the component setup that downstream analysis depends on.
Design the Measurement Layer: Build calculated metrics, segments/filters, dimensions, and date ranges that translate raw cross-channel events into the KPIs the business cares about.
Build Analysis Workspace Projects: Construct freeform tables, companion visualizations, and dashboards structured around the question being answered, choosing the visualization type and layout that make each insight clear.
Turn Data Into Decisions: Apply a strong analytics thought process to every build, deciding which KPIs to surface and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Protect Data Trust: Validate accuracy across connections, data views, and reports, perform QA and reconciliation, and resolve discrepancies to ensure dependable reporting.
WHAT YOU BRING
Customer Journey Analytics Mastery: 6+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), with demonstrable depth across:
Connections and data views
Calculated metrics and derived fields
Segments/filters and other components
Analysis Workspace project and dashboard building
Analytics-Driven Mindset: Strong judgment about which KPIs to surface, which visualization communicates a given trend or comparison best, and how to structure a workspace for clarity and impact.
Data Source Versatility: Proven ability to connect varied data sources into CJA and build the visualizations and reporting on top of them.
Communication & Storytelling: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to defend a metric or visualization choice and explain findings to non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have (Not Required): These are pluses, not gating requirements. Strong CJA expertise is what matters most.
Experience with Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) .
Google Analytics (GA4) experience.
