General Job Information:
Job Purpose : The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that the operation is performing at its maximum productivity level within the Distribution Centre
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• 2-3 years of experience in a Logistics/Distribution/TES
• Min 2 years of supervisory experience
• Computer literate (MS Office) – Beginner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
• Grade 12
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics Management
• Experience in a Logistics/Warehousing environment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROCESS
• Adherence to department SOP (picking and RT)
• Ensure all procedures are in place, for an efficient shift handover in all areas of production
• Ensure that full briefing between production managers is done on each hand over of shift
• Brief all Production Supervisors on the daily targets / setting hourly goals to ensure effective production efficiency
• Ensure the total production headcounts is sufficient
• Ensure KPIs are set to get the maximum out of direct time performance and Time keeping is adhered to
• Ensure consistency in housekeeping
• Ensure staff gets the correct training to ensure that standards being maintained
• Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and staff adheres to safe working procedures
• Ensure stock from the receiving floor gets put away in a set time frame
• Ensure reports are pulled as often as possible to see how the work is spread out per section, for Picking and Reach Trucks
• Monitor late picks and short picks
• Ensure Pickers are in-sync with Reach trucks and Replenishment;
• Ensure pallet selects are managed
• Manage all aspects of the production line from receiving to dispatch
• Ensure all machinery is in good and working condition throughout the shift
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
• Monitor attendance of all staff in Production;
• Ensure all workers are wearing the correct PPE;
• Ensure that Training and Development is in place;
• Compile Daily complement report and send to ADfusion Shift Manager;
• Ensure Production runs well and, queries are dealt with timeously in liaison with ADfusion Shift Manager.
PROCESS EVALUATION
• Evaluate and communicate implications, and risks of proposed operational process changes as necessary to the Shift Manager
• Continuously identify, analyse, and communicate cross-functional process issues and recommendations as and when required to the Shift Manager
