In this role, you'll work alongside instructional designers, facilitators, and subject matter experts to build the learning experiences that help our people do meaningful, high-quality work. From facilitator guides and interactive learning modules to training data management and knowledge repositories, you'll gain hands-on experience in how a growing organization designs, delivers, and continuously improves its learning programs.
This isn't a job where you'll simply observe—you'll own real deliverables that will be used by employees across the organization. You'll collaborate with teams throughout Protocase, helping transform operational knowledge into engaging, practical learning experiences that contribute directly to employee success.
What You'll Do
• Design and develop training materials, including facilitator guides, interactive HTML learning modules, quizzes, scenario-based exercises, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Contribute to our centralized Training Knowledge Repository by organizing, formatting, and publishing training content.
• Support the maintenance of training databases and role-to-training mapping across multiple business entities.
• Assist with internal training audits, sample reviews, and reporting on training effectiveness metrics.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts across Production, Sales, Quality, and Leadership to translate operational knowledge into clear, engaging learning materials.
• Apply structured instructional design methodologies (we'll teach you ours) to create learning experiences that are engaging, practical, and measurable.
• Help improve existing training content by identifying opportunities for greater clarity, consistency, and learner engagement.
• Leverage AI tools responsibly to support content creation, research, documentation, and workflow efficiency.

Technical Skills
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Comfortable using documentation tools, spreadsheets, and basic HTML, with a willingness to learn new platforms.
• Comfortable using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Manus, NotebookLM, or similar) as part of your workflow, with good judgment on when and how to use them effectively.
Certifications / Licences
• None required.
Other Requirements
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-op program.
• Willingness to relocate to Sydney, Nova Scotia for the duration of the work term.
• Ability to work on-site during regular day shift hours.

• Basic experience with HTML or other digital content creation tools.
• Strong curiosity about learning technologies and continuous improvement.
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, research, or content development.
• Previous co-op, volunteer, or leadership experience involving communication, training, or knowledge sharing.

By the end of your co-op term, you will:
• Have created training materials and learning resources that are actively used by employees across the organization.
• Build strong working relationships with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
• Gain practical experience applying instructional design principles in a real-world manufacturing environment.
