Location: Torquay, Paignton, Brixham
Salary: £12.80 to £13.40 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time and Part-time available
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Domiciliary Care Assistants , working within our Reablement Team .
This role combines the core responsibilities of domiciliary care with a reablement approach. While you will continue to provide high-quality care and support in clients' own homes, your focus will be on working alongside individuals to help them rebuild confidence, regain independence, and achieve their personal goals. Rather than simply completing tasks for clients, you'll encourage and support them to do as much as they can for themselves, helping to reduce or remove the need for long-term care wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide personal care and support in clients' own homes
• Support and encourage clients with personal care routines while promoting independence
• Assist with meal preparation and encourage clients to take an active role
• Help improve mobility and confidence in moving safely
• Support clients with medication routines (where required)
• Encourage access to the community and social activities
• Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to achieve individual goals and outcomes
• Maintain accurate care records and follow individual care plans
Shift Patterns
This role includes a mixture of Reablement and Domiciliary Care visits. Typical shift patterns are:
• Morning: 07:00 – 11:00
• Lunch: 11:00 – 14:30
• Tea: 15:30 – 18:00
• Evening: 19:00 – 21:30 (Reablement) or 19:00 – 22:30 (when completing Domiciliary Care visits)
Flexible working patterns may be available.
What We're Looking For
• A caring, patient, and encouraging approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for helping people regain independence
• Reliability and flexibility to work across shift patterns
• Previous domiciliary care experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
What We Offer
• Full training and ongoing support
• Opportunities for career development
• A rewarding role where you can make a real difference
• Flexible working options
