What You'll Do:
The Registered Nurse (RN ) is responsible for assessing individuals across both adult and youth populations and documenting pertinent information, including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and Substance Abuse issues. The role requires demonstrated knowledge of Crisis Intervention and the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations. Additionally, this position provides education to individuals and their families regarding Behavioral Health diagnoses, medications, and treatments.
Nursing Assessment and Documentation:
Complete detailed Nursing Assessments with individuals across both adult and youth populations, documenting pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments, and medication administration using appropriate assessment tools.
Accurately record all medications brought in by individuals on the medication reconciliation/storage form.
Treatment Planning:
Plan individual treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical team, addressing the unique needs of both adult and youth individuals.
Education and Health Literacy:
Provide education concerning Psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and others involved in the individual’s care, with a focus on the distinct needs of both adults and youth.
Crisis Intervention:
Intervene with appropriate verbal interventions to defuse out-of-control or potentially dangerous behaviors in both adult and youth populations.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and techniques, and articulate roles and responsibilities related to safety.
Seclusion/Restraint Procedures:
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, and techniques; initiate documentation and debriefing with individuals following any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.
Medication Administration and Documentation:
Accurately transcribe Provider orders and administer medications as prescribed.
Attempt to have individuals sign medication consent forms.
