Description
This is a contract position for one of our fintech clients. This person will be working within either the brokerage or crypto teams!
We’re looking for a backend engineer who gets excited about building things that don’t exist yet.
This is not a role for someone who only maintains or “tunes” existing systems — we need someone who can take a blank slate and turn it into a production‑ready service.
You’ll be working on greenfield projects with a team that values speed, technical excellence, and ownership. This is a 6‑month contract role with potential for extension and/or conversion, but in those six months, you’ll make a tangible impact.
Important:
• You must be based in the United States .
• We can’t provide visa sponsorship for this role.
• This is a contract position , fully remote within the US.
• This contract would be a W-2 position, we cannot do a 1099 or C2C at this time
What you’ll do
• Build backend services from scratch — from architecture to deployment.
• Design RESTful APIs and highly concurrent systems that handle real‑world scale.
• Solve complex engineering problems and make sound decisions about priorities.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver fast, maintainable code.
• Contribute to a culture of ownership: review code, share knowledge, and mentor where you can.
What makes someone a great fit
• 3+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proven track record of building greenfield systems (not just maintaining legacy code).
• Proficiency in Golang or Python (both are great).
• Experience with cloud‑native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong grasp of REST API design , distributed systems, and concurrency.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
