Learn more at www.boehringer-ingelheim.com The Position We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist to join our matrix‑structured global High‑Throughput Biology (gHTB) organization. You will be part of a world-class research organization that is shaping the future of drug discovery. In this role, you will work in a laboratory focused on high‑throughput screening and profiling assays and play a key role in the assay development of target engagement assays that support the identification and validation of chemical starting points for drug discovery programs. You will act as a discipline representative for HTB, driving scientific excellence, assay innovation, and strong collaboration across Drug Discovery Sciences department. Tasks & responsibilities • In your new role, you will provide scientific and strategic guidance to enable high‑quality and efficient project support. • You will design, develop, and implement robust high-throughput ready assays with focus on in-cell target engagement for diverse target classes to enable hit-finding, compound optimization and mechanism-of-action studies, utilizing a wide range of high‑throughput assay technologies. • As an HTB discipline expert, you will support HTB in cross‑disciplinary project teams and actively contribute to scientific and technological innovation and serve as an expert for target engagement assays including CETSA, BITSA, BRETSA, NanoBRET TE, DSF, and related biophysical assays. • Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with partners across Therapeutic Areas, Medicinal Chemistry, Structural Research and DMPK to identify key scientific needs, set priorities, and jointly define hit‑finding and early drug discovery strategies. • In addition, you will mentor and develop team members, foster a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration, and prioritize workloads in alignment with the objectives of the global HTB organization. Requirements • Master`s degree in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related field, with relevant experience, preferably in an industrial drug discovery setting; PhD is a plus • Proven expertise in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and general molecular and cell biology techniques as well as experience in cell engineering, molecular cloning, molecular pharmacology and structural biology, is highly advantageous • Experience with target biology, including G protein-coupled receptors, kinases, transporters, ion channels, or other druggable target classes is an advantage • Solid understanding of assay robustness, data quality requirements, and relevant screening statistics for HTS applications • Strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity, combined with a pronounced commitment to quality and scientific excellence • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate effectively in multidisciplinary teams and matrix environments • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus Start date: asap As part of our commitment to transparency and fairness, salary information will be shared during the recruitment process.
