Teleport is an AI Infrastructure Identity Company solving cryptographic identity and access control for infrastructure. This Senior Backend Engineer role focuses on platform scalability, working on the open-source Teleport Core Product across performance, security, networking, and system integrations. What You'll Do • Become an expert on scalability, performance, and reliability of Teleport in large deployments • Design, develop, and ship high-quality products primarily in Go • Collaborate closely with other teams on scalability and performance matters • Work directly with customers to diagnose and remediate performance issues • Grow technical expertise across the full product lifecycle from customer discovery through implementation and documentation What You Need • Extensive Go programming experience • Extensive experience developing scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and platforms • Linux systems engineering experience • Knowledge of Identity Management, RBAC, ABAC, and zero-trust security models • Builder mentality with experience building zero-to-one products • Willingness to complete a take-home coding challenge in Go as part of the interview process Nice to Have • Significant contributions to open source projects • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to master new technologies • Transparency, honesty, and collaborative mindset Extensive health coverage, annual expense budget, rest and recovery policies, retirement savings plans, professional development opportunities
