Description
XYZ Reality is a Series-A startup transforming the construction industry through a BIM platform spanning cloud development, data pipelines, AI, and computer vision. This Senior Data Engineer role focuses on designing and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and SQL infrastructure to support the platform's scalability and performance.
What You'll Do
• Design, develop, and maintain Dagster-based data pipelines using Python
• Design and implement efficient data models for transactional and analytical systems
• Develop SQL queries and procedures for data pipelines and API services
• Debug, maintain, and improve existing codebases; conduct performance profiling and stress testing
• Develop unit and integration tests; maintain documentation for data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with API, backend, and cloud teams
What You Need
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent proven experience in database and data pipeline development
• Hands-on experience with code-driven orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow
• Solid experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
• Strong Python language and object-oriented programming skills
• Experience in data modelling for both transactional and analytical systems
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills; proficiency with Git and code reviews
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and Liquibase
• Knowledge of REST/GraphQL or other API design methodologies
• Familiarity with working in Linux-based environments
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Experience in Test-Driven Development, PyTest, and software design patterns
